Louisa May Alcott
My first foray into the classics was Alcott's Little Women. I'm sure I cried like every other 6th grade girl when Jo didn't marry Laurie but I soon got over it and with what bordered on obsession read every Alcott book I could get my hands on. Louisa has always fascinated me since a woman in her time (1832b -1888d) was very often overlooked, she was strong, brave and opinionated and didn't seem to be cast down easily. Her parents gave her something other than money, because they were poor, an education and the introductions to great minds like Emmerson. My favorite Alcott books is Jack and Jill
I love the following cover from Goodreads.......
